A couple of years ago my wife and I started a new venture named Penguins & Sharks. Both Melissa and I are passionate about wildlife and the marine environment. Melissa is a wildlife professional, certified oiled wildlife responder working in the zoo and conservation field. Over recent years it has become harder and harder to secure funding from media publications to cover wildlife stories. Sadly, it is near impossible. So we wanted to somehow raise funds to enable us to continue working with conservation organizations to help raise awareness on pressing wildlife issues such as the plight of the African penguin. We now finance this conservation work by limited edition print sales and also donate a portion to The Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds for frontline conservation efforts.
We supply media content to The Southern African Foundation for the Conservation of Coastal Birds (SANCCOB) and their conservation partners which include BirdLife South Africa, Blue Marine Foundation and other stakeholders for ongoing global awareness campaigns.
